Motto For a 21st Century Girl: Fear When Fear is Necessary

I won't say I lead a No Fear lifestyle, though my 7th-grade gym clothes would have told you differently.  But, I do have a hard time buying into "what-if" fear.  I saw a service the other day that allows you to send an IM to people in the event that you are in a Katrina-like disaster.  My initial reaction to that is, what are the odds?
Do I fear being eaten by a shark?  No, but one time while riding a Jet Ski in Hilton Head I did shudder when I saw a fin after getting dumped in the water.  It turned out to be a group of dolphins that wanted to play, and made one of the most memorable experiences of my life.  And that is why I bring you this from damncoolpictures.com:

THINGS THAT KILL MORE PEOPLE THAN SHARKS

It might be Shark Week at Discovery channel, but hot dogs & high school football kill more people than sharks. A good reminder that a fear of sharks is irrational. Check out the list of 20 things that kill more people than sharks every year here. Among them….hippos, lightening, tornadoes….oh, and hotdogs (which target CHILDREN!).
